In March, she received a flurry of media attention when it became widely known that Schlapp was the next candidate to replace Hope Hicks's position as the director of communications. There has been a lot of fighting. Schlapp's allies started fighting Tony Sayegh on the news. Schlapp said that after the Washington Examiner had published an article that had negative reviews of Sayegh's character, she called Sayegh to have a private discussion.
